What Do You Think About Evangelism?

April 13th, 2009 · Posted in Christianity, Evangelism · 4 Comments

Chris Walker at Evangelism Coach.org has a good post today about hindrances to personal evagelism.

He asks — What do you think when you hear the word “evangelism”?

Evangelism — or telling others about Jesus — should come natural for us, but many times does not.

Why is that?

What keeps you from telling others about Christ?

I’d love to get a conversation going about this — so please leave your comments!

For me, religion is personal. I have my faith, but don’t talk about it to others. Not sure why though. Maybe its general shyness? being raises to mind your own business? or just thinking other people have their own beliefs, so I don’t share.

Hey Linda —

As always, thanks for reading and commenting on my blog.

Your comment reflects what many folks tell me — that they don’t tell others about Christ because they are shy — or don’t want to offend folks — or other reasons. My concern is that if Christians don’t share their faith and joy, people will not discover Christ.

Hello,

I’m not sure I would describe myself as shy, but I’m very introverted, and my natural, sinful tendency is to not talk to people, and stay to myself. I’ve more or less overcome this in the area of evangelism. I thought it was worth overcoming because we’re commanded to, and if we care about other people and their eternity, we must.

Thanks,
Bill

I agree, Bill. It is not an option, is it?
