5 Questions for Bruce Reyes-Chow

June 3rd, 2008 · Posted in Church Polity, Practical Ministry, What's Going On With Me ·

Bruce Reyes-Chow is a Presbyterian minister who is running for moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church, USA. He has an interesting feature on his blog where he asks folks to send him questions and then post his answers on their blog.

Here are some questions I am going to submt:

1. Why do you want to be moderator?

2. The Pew Forum recently listed the Presbyterian Church, USA as being a denomination that is leading most other denominations in terms of membership loss. What strategies do you think need to be adopted to help us reverse this trend?

3. What do you feel is the purpose of the General Assembly and it’s entities?

4. How do you think the denomination can help churches impact their communities with the love of God?

5. Please describe your “perfect church”.

I don’t have a vote on his candidacy for moderator (I am not a delegate to the General Assembly this year), but I would like to know what he thinks about these issues.

Stay tuned for his responses.
