Confront A Critic Or Have A Root Canal?

January 28th, 2008 · Posted in Church Humor, Humor, Practical Ministry ·

Todd Rhoades over at Monday Morning Insight has started a new feature — “Would You Rather?”where he poses 2 alternatives and you choose which one you would prefer. Today’s question:

Would you rather confront your harshest critc or have a root canal?

Most ministers are choosing to have a root canal — while some are choosing to watch their harshest critic get a root canal — and a few are thinking “outside the box” and choosing to give their harshest critic a root canal.

Personally — I do not have any harsh critics (yet) at Hopewell — but have had some very harsh ones in the past. At the time I would have preferred a root canal than to confront them — but I hope I have learned how to confront in a way that promotes growth and healing.

Yea — right!
