Faith And Policy
December 6th, 2007 · Posted in Current Affairs, Politics, Practical Christianity ·
Presidential candidate Mitt Romney promised that his religious faith would not influence his presidential policies if her were elected. These comments came after months of being asked to describe how his affiliation with the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints (Mormon) religion might affect his polices.
I personally do not see how one can help but be influenced by your faith. As a Christian, my faith would certainly influence my policy decisions if I were in politics, and feel that someone who says it does not is not being exactly honest or is not committed to their faith.
I’d love to discuss this — leave a comment.

I did not see his speech. Just a few clips on the news, and I have to agree, how had his faith not affect his decisions? Just seems like politics as usual.

Yea — at least that’s my take on it!

Good point, Bill.
A person’s philosophy of life, whether religious or secular will influence his/her law making and policy decisions. The question arises how objective a person can be in making laws and establishing policy for the greater good of all concerned when many others is a society will have different philosophies of life.
