“Thanks For Sticking With Me”
August 13th, 2007 · Posted in Practical Christianity, Practical Ministry · 0 CommentsI am not posting very frequently now because I continue to have internet connection problems with my home computer — which is my broadband connection — and am using the computer in my office at the Church — which has a dial up connection — for all internet activity. Anyway — I do want to take the time this morning to post about an article I just read on Rev! Magazine’s web site.
The article is about the need for ministers to “stick with” churches more than the average of 3.5 years — and the need for members to “stick with” churches longer that the average 2.5 years. It goes on to say that, too many times, ministers tend to focus their attention on the new members or the ones threatening to leave without expressing enough appreciation to those who stick with the church through good times and bad.
I just want to say “thanks” to those who stick with me and the Church. I make plenty of mistakes, others in the Church do too, but we can all learn from God and each other, and stick together to do God’s work and will in the world.
