The Brainstorming Firestorm

August 3rd, 2007 · Posted in Reflections · 0 Comments

I just read this post from David Wayne — the Jollyblogger — — and am not sure exactly what to think. It seems that he found a post that had studies to show that the treasured way of gathering ideas and thinking creatively — what we call “brainstorming” — is not the best way to solve problems or develop new ideas.

I don’t know about this. I feel that my best ideas come when I am working in groups. But maybe I’ve been trained to think that way. And what does this say about study groups, sermon preparation groups, and other groups?

I’d love to “brainstorm” about this. What do y’all think?
