Internal and External Change

July 16th, 2007 · Posted in Practical Christianity, Practical Ministry ·

The Alban Institute’s e-mailed weekly article deals with change this week — specifically what kind of changes are the ones that seem to work and what kind of changes are the ones that don’t. The article says that — for change to really be effective — it must be an internal change, and not just an external one.

While this particular article is dealing mainly with change within a church, this is also true of change in any organization — as well as within an individual. Unless an external change is accompanied by a change in attitude, it will probably not be effective.

The next time you, your Church, your business, or your organization attempt a change, make sure it’s an internal — as well as an external - one.
