What Do I Need To Stop Doing?
May 29th, 2007 · Posted in Practical Ministry ·
This must be a week for me to consider what I do in the ministry! (Seeing that I’m “off” this week — at home but doing things that need to be done around the house instead of working at the Church — I guess it’s “safe” to think about what I do in the ministry.)
Yesterday I posted about what church members think minsters do all week. Now I’ve just read a great question posed by Todd Rhoades at Monday Morning Insights:
What is it that I do that I need to stop doing so I can focus on the important things I need to be dong?
Todd quotes Bruce Johnson as writing:
“What do I need to stop doing that I’m currently doing, so that I can focus more of my time and energy on the things that matter most and will create the greatest impact over the course of my life and time?”
I’m sure that all of us can say that there are things we do on a daily basis that take time away from more important things we could be doing. I’m going to put some thought into what I can stop doing — what the more important things I could be doing instead might be — and how I can stop doing the less important and start doing the more important things.
What things do you need to stop doing so you can start doing more important things?
