The Purpose Driven Life: Day 32– Using What God Gave You
March 26th, 2007 · Posted in Books, Christianity, Practical Christianity, Purpose Driven Life ·Purpose 4 of Rick Warren’s book The Purpose Driven Life is:
You Were Shaped For Serving God
Warren continues this theme in day 32 — Using What God Gave You. Beginning with the sentence: God deserves your best Warren makes the point that God has blessed you with gifts and abilities for ministry, and expects you to use them for His work in the world. This means you have to discover, accept, and enjoy your particular gifts (your SHAPE).
1. How to discover your SHAPE
Warren suggests that you begin by assessing your gifts and abilities. Ask yourself where you have already been successful, or i what areas you have been able to help others. These areas are where your gifts and ministry lie.
2. Accepting and enjoying your SHAPE
Instead of being envious of gifts and abilities you do not have, use and enjoy the ones you do! God wants you to use your gifts, not gripe about gifts you don’t have!
3. Keep developing your SHAPE
Keep using your gifts, and finding new ways to use them for God’s glory.
You have a unique SHAPE.
Find out how you can discover it, accept it, and develop it for the glory of God.
Lord, You have given me unique gifts for ministry. Help me to continue to learn how I can use them for Your glory, In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
