You Were Formed For God’s Family
Warren continues on this purpose in day 16 — What Matters Most.
Beginng with the sentence:
Life is all about love.
Warren stresses that love is the most important thing in life. Regardless of whatever else we accomplish in life, it is the love we show that is the most important thing. It is in loving others that we are the most like God. Love is what matters most in life.
Love is what matters most — but love is probably one of the most difficult things for us to do. People will irritate us. There will be folks we don’t want to be around. But God still wants us to love. God still says that love is what matters most.
Why should you make loving relationships the top priority in your life?
Warren gives 3 reasons:
1. Life without love is worthless.
Relationships are not something to be sqeezed into your schedule — they are to be the priority in your schedule. “Busyness” is the great enemy of relationships — you need to make your relationships with others the top priority in your schedule.2. Love will last forever.
It is what you do for others — what you do to build loving relationships with others — that really matters in life.3. You will be evaluated on your love.
God will not ask you about your career, how much money you made, etc. God will ask you how much love you showed others.
The best use of you time is showing love to others.
The best expression of you love is spending time with others.
The best time for you to begin showing love to others is now.
Lord — Help me to be the loving person You would have me to be. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
