Purpose Driven Life: Day 2 — You Are Not An Accident

That’s how Rick Warren begin day 2 of The Purpose Driven Life.
You were born when you were — where you were — with your particular gifts and abilities — for a purpose. It would be better to say that God placed you where He did — when He did — and gave you the gifts and abilities He did — for a purpose. His purpose.
You don’t have to wander aimlessly around in life. Your life can have purpose and meaning. You can have purpose and meaning.
How can you discover your purpose and meaning in life?
Warren writes — and I agree:
“We discover that meaning and purpose only when we made God the reference point of our lives.” (The Purpose Driven Life, pg. 25)
So — the question is — are you making God the reference point for your life — and striving to discover — and live out — His will for you?
Remember — you are not an accident.
Lord — I thank You that I am not an accident. Help me make You the reference point for my life. Show me what You have created me to do, and give me the will and strength to do it. Amen.

My Day 2 revelation required me to do more than accept who I am physically and my place in life, but it required me to forgive myself. I have spent so much time beating myself up over the wicked things I have done and the people I have hurt. But I have to realize that had I not hit rock bottom like I did, I would not likely be serious about serving God and this would be little more than lip service.
