The Credibility Issue

Here’s a great post on the need for pastors to be credible — in other words, their words in the pulpit need to be lived out in their daily living — or what they say in the pulpit will lose it’s authority.
To proclaim the Word of God without the credibility of a holy and sober life is to make a mockery of God’s truth. It is a denial of the necessity of both Faith and Practice. We who preach and teach are often contented with a Friday-Sunday holiness of life. We are convinced in some deception of Satan that our beliefs, attitudes, thoughts, words, and actions during the week are inconsequential to our sermons on Sunday. Brothers, these things ought not to be so!
I can’t agree more!
This, of course, should not be limited to pastors — but all Christians need to be credible — have actions that match their words — and live the faith we profess to have!
