Did John Lennon Become A Christian?
January 17th, 2007 · Posted in Christianity, Practical Christianity, Reflections, Religion ·
This article states that John Lennon, who experimented with many religions, experimented with Christianity, but then gave up following Christ.
It seems that around 1977 Lennon, who watched Pat Robertson and others on TV, gave his life to Christ. The article states that:
Over the following months he baffled those close to him by constantly praising “the Lord,” writing Christian songs with titles like “Talking with Jesus” and “Amen” (the Lord’s Prayer set to music), and trying to convert nonbelievers. He also called the prayer line of The 700 Club, Pat Robertson’s program.
However, his wife, Yoko Ono, feared that his newfound faith would take away her control over his life, and finally persuaded him to give up Christianity. By 1978 he had written You Saved My Soul – referring to Yoko saving him from Christianity, not to God saving him from his life of drugs and sin.
Lennon seems to be a warning for us all. Don’t “experiment” with following Christ — let Christ change you!

This is so sad… It’s amazing how much John allowed people to control him instead of Christ. God bless Paul and Ringo, we can only pray they find the Answer.
