An Advent Devotion: In The Face Of Darkness
November 28th, 2006 · Posted in Advent Devotions, The Church Year · 0 CommentsToday’s Goshen College Advent Devotion is based on Jeremiah 33:14-16.
It mentions that — in the midst of personal darkness — God brings His light. Here’s a portion of it:
For each of us our personal darkness is deep. To know that others are also in darkness brings us no light. Understanding of how we came to this does not provide relief. It is the light of love that alone can penetrate our darkness. We may experience that light of love in the touch of another. Or we may experience it in a renewed hope of the promise God has given. All love and all hope are from God.
God can indeed bring light to our darkness.
