Dissolving Relationships
July 30th, 2006 · Posted in Church Polity, What's Going On With Me · 0 CommentsYou may remember my post of a few weeks ago where I wrote of accepting a call to be Pastor of Hopewell Presbyerian Church in Florence, SC.
Today the Wentworth Presbyterian Church — where I have served for 23 years — voted to “dissolve the pastoral relationship” – - a vote no one was really in favor of but no one voted against.
It’s difficult to be in a position of asking friends to vote to “dissolve the pastoral relationship” — but it is a necessary step in the process the Presbyterian denomination puts before us.
The next few weeks will be filled with packing, saying “goodbye” to friends, and working to make the transition to Hopewell smooth. Through all this, I know that God is with me, and give praise to God for the new oppotunities that are before me!
