Italy Rules The World (Cup)

Congrats to Italy for beating France in the championship of the World Cup!

It was indeed a great game — both teams scoring early on — then the game ending in a 1-1 tie. After 2 15 minute overtime periods the game was still tied at 1-1 — so it was decided by penalty kicks. Each team got a chance to make 5 penalty kicks — Italy made all 5, France made 3 — Italy is the World Cup Champion.

Click here to read a detailed report of the game — including the ejection of Fance’s star player.

Update: I’ve added a video with some commentary of Zinedine Zidane’s ejection.

And yet — he still wins the award for the oustanding player in the World Cup! Shamed Zidane indeed!

I enjoyed the game. I was shocked at how Zidane ended his career. I have a pic of it on my blog now. I’m just glad he was caught!

I enjoyed the game also. But — I also was shocked by Zidane. And now he’s the best player in the tournament?
