A Deeper Faith, Not A Better Strategy
April 7th, 2006 · Posted in Christianity, Reflections, Religion · 0 CommentsMany times people feel that change in the world can be accomplished through strategic planning. The idea seems to be that almost anything can be accomplished if we have a well thought out strategy.
I feel strategic planning is important, but there is something else that is needed: a deep faith in God. If we do not have faith in God — and if our plans do not spring from our faith in God — then all the strategy in the world will not make the differnce God wants us to make in the world.
In an artice in this months Sojourner’s Magazine Jim Wallis writes:
Radical Christians must seek not a successful strategy but a deeper faith. Only then will we have the assurance of salvation, not because of what we have accomplished, but because we have allowed God’s grace and mercy to flow through our lives.
Well said.
