The Lent Challange — Day 9

March 10th, 2006 · Posted in The Lent Challenge · 3 Comments

Today’s Lent Challange reading is Matthew 19-20.

To me, these chapters speak to commitment.

You have the passage where Jesus speaks of commitment to others in Matthew 19:1-12 and the passage where Jesus calls the rich young man to give up everything and follow (Matthew 19:16-30)

Commitment to God and others. That’s not just a theme for these chapters, but a theme for the Christian life.

I pray that — as I go through the season of Lent — my commitment — to God and others — can become greater.

I had the best intentions to keep up with this Lenten Challenge, but I have already fallen behind. I have not been feeling well and life seems be speeding when I am slowing. But I am determined to read them all, even if it takes me more than 40 days.

Linda, I encourage you to pick it back up. It’s been great. Even if you don’t catch up, just pick up where we are and comment along with us!
