THEY’LL KNOW WE ARE CHRISTIANS

I found a post at Eternal Revolution that speaks to the need to show love and compassion to those we disagree with — or feel are wrong in their behavior — instead of criticizing and pointing out how wrong they are.

One part I really appreciated was the comment:

Think of the impact if the first thing the homosexual community thought of when someone mentions evangelicals was that they were the people who lovingly ran the AIDS shelters and tenderly cared for them down to the last gasp. A little consistent wholesome modeling and costly servanthood are worth millions of true words harshly spoken.

Indeed — reaching out to others with love and compassion should be out first reaction to those who are caught up in what we might consider to be sinful  behavior. If we show them the love of Christ first, we can make a greater impact when we talk to them about the new life in Christ.
